The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) has expanded its Rare Disease Centers of Excellence Network with seven new academic medical and research institutions, bringing the total to 46 centers across 28 states and Washington, D.C.
These additions strengthen a nationwide effort to reduce diagnostic delays, expand access to expert care, and accelerate research for the 30 million Americans living with rare diseases.

Launched in 2021, NORD’s Centers of Excellence Network supports multidisciplinary care, physician training, and research collaboration across all rare diseases. Each center undergoes rigorous review to meet NORD’s standards for quality care and research engagement.
